1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account on Easy Takeoffs or using the service at easytakeoffs.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page when changes are made. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
2. Description of Service
Easy Takeoffs is a cloud-based web application that allows contractors and construction professionals to perform digital takeoffs on PDF construction drawings. The service includes:
- Upload and view multi-page PDF construction drawings at full resolution
- Linear and polyline measurements for lengths and runs
- Area and rectangle measurements for square footage
- Count tool for quantity takeoffs
- Automatic scale detection with manual calibration options
- Snap-to-content precision where the cursor locks to walls, corners, and midpoints
- Color-coded measurement groups with running totals
- Measurement labels and annotations
- Page naming and multi-page document management
- Export to annotated PDF and CSV spreadsheet
- Project and folder organization
- Cloud storage and access from any browser
The service is provided via web browser and does not require any software installation. Features and availability may change as we improve the product.
3. Pricing and Free Access
Easy Takeoffs is currently offered free of charge with no per-seat or subscription fees. We reserve the right to introduce paid tiers in the future, and we will provide advance notice before any pricing changes take effect.
The free tier may have usage limits such as storage capacity or file size restrictions. We may adjust these limits at our discretion to ensure fair use and service stability.
4. User Accounts
To use Easy Takeoffs, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and password. You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. Each account is intended for use by a single individual. You may not share your account credentials with others.
You must provide accurate information when creating your account and keep that information up to date.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Upload files containing malware, viruses, or malicious code
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service, other users' accounts, or our infrastructure
- Use the service to store or distribute content that violates any applicable law
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the application
- Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the service
- Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers or networks connected to the service
- Circumvent rate limiting or access controls
- Create multiple accounts to evade restrictions
- Upload files exceeding size limits or non-PDF files for unintended purposes
- Use the service for any purpose other than its intended use as a construction plan measurement tool
6. Intellectual Property
The Easy Takeoffs application, including its source code, design, branding, and documentation, is owned by Easy Takeoffs and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the application without our written permission.
You retain full ownership of the content you upload to the service, including your PDF construction drawings, measurement data, and project information. We claim no intellectual property rights over your content.
7. Uploaded Content
You retain all ownership rights to the PDF files, construction drawings, and other content you upload to Easy Takeoffs. By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and serve that content back to you solely for the purpose of providing the service.
You represent that you have the right to upload any content you provide and that your content does not infringe on any third party's intellectual property or other rights. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have proper authorization to use and upload any construction plans or drawings.
8. Service Availability
We strive to keep Easy Takeoffs available and running smoothly at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. The service is provided on a “best effort” basis. We may need to take the service offline for maintenance, updates, or other operational reasons.
We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from service downtime, data loss due to system failures, or interruptions beyond our reasonable control.
9. Measurement Accuracy
Easy Takeoffs provides digital measurement tools for construction plans. While these tools are designed to produce accurate results, the accuracy of any measurement depends on several factors including the quality of the uploaded PDF, the correctness of the scale calibration, and the precision of user input.
You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of all measurements taken with Easy Takeoffs before using them in bids, estimates, material orders, or any other purpose. Easy Takeoffs is a measurement tool, not a substitute for professional judgment. We are not responsible for errors in measurements, estimates, or bids that result from using the service.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Easy Takeoffs and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, business opportunities, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the service.
Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us, if any, during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Easy Takeoffs and its operators, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.
12. Termination
You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon deletion, all your data including uploaded files, projects, and measurements will be permanently removed.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or use the service in a manner that threatens the security or integrity of the platform. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before termination unless immediate action is necessary.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will meet your specific requirements or that the results obtained from using the service will be accurate or reliable.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
