Premium is the takeoff plan. It lifts the free plan's limits and adds exports and reports, the item and assembly library, overlays, automatic plan naming, symbol search and recognition, and AI Takeoffs. Unlimited viewer seats let project managers and owners open plans without a paid seat.
Pro is the estimating plan. It adds worksheet estimating, STACK for Excel, the BNI cost library and proposals. If you finish the estimate outside STACK, the extra $600 a year per seat pays for tools you would not open.
Both paid plans are 12-month terms. STACK's billing FAQ says every subscription runs for 12 months, paid upfront or in monthly payments, and the monthly payments are higher: $349 a month per user for Premium and $399 for Pro. Over the term, Premium on monthly payments comes to $4,188, the same as Pro billed annually. The page puts the annual saving at 15% in one place and 20% in another; on the listed prices it is $50 a month per user, so check the figure on your quote.
AI Takeoffs come with both paid plans. STACK's AI Takeoff page describes a first pass that counts doors and windows, measures room areas, and takes off interior and exterior wall lengths, one plan sheet at a time. It does best on architectural floor plans and cancels requests that run past five minutes. STACK presents it as a starting point instead of a blank sheet, so check the result before you price from it.
Is STACK's Free Plan Enough?
STACK's free plan costs nothing and doesn't expire. After seven days of Pro features, it keeps plan viewing, markup and the core takeoff tools, limited to one active project a month and to 300 plan pages and 50 measurements per project. STACK's feature comparison shows no printing, exports or reports on the free plan.
That is enough to learn STACK or measure the occasional small job. For regular bidding, the limits arrive quickly: a drywall takeoff for a single floor can use 50 measurements on wall runs, ceilings and soffits alone, one active project a month rules out bidding several jobs in the same week, and without exports the quantities stay inside STACK.
Easy Takeoffs has no free plan. Its 14-day trial of the full software needs no credit card, so you can take off a complete bid before you decide.

If STACK Pro's estimating carries your bids, you need software that prices the work, and you should expect to rebuild your items, assemblies and cost data in it. Easy Takeoffs and Square Takeoff can be paid month to month without a contract, and Buildxact offers monthly billing alongside annual plans with a 12-month commitment. ConstructConnect Takeoff subscriptions are annual contracts that can't be canceled mid-term, Bluebeam bills its plans annually, and Togal.AI's Growth plan is billed yearly. PlanSwift's additional seats cost $1,500 and ConstructConnect Takeoff Professional's $1,700, and Buildxact prices the company rather than the estimator, so its cost stays the same however many people quote. Square Takeoff quotes multiple licenses by phone, ConstructConnect Takeoff Starter is limited to one seat, and On-Screen Takeoff is sold by quote, so they are not in the table. The figures cover subscriptions only, not the time it takes to rebuild items and assemblies in a new tool.

Easy Takeoffs
$39 a month or $399 a year, one plan with every feature. The 14-day trial needs no credit card.
Easy Takeoffs covers the takeoff side of STACK and leaves pricing to the spreadsheet or estimating system you already use. Like STACK, it runs in a browser and saves projects to the cloud. Sheets are named from their title blocks as they upload, detected scales are offered as suggestions you confirm, and symbol search finds a repeated fixture from one example so you can review the matches and add them as counts. Text search covers the whole set, scanned pages included, and on PDFs exported from CAD, Dynamic Fill fills a room with one click.
Assemblies turn measurements into material quantities: 44 built-in ones across drywall, flooring, painting, framing, roofing, concrete, electrical and other trades, a community library, and your own formulas and waste factors. Markups such as revision clouds, callouts and highlights sit on the same sheets. When a revised set arrives, you can switch between the old and new sheets or swipe a divider across both, and measurements that need a second look are marked for review. A read-only link opens a project without an account, for people who only need to look. Exports include an annotated PDF with a takeoff summary, a CSV and a filled copy of your own Excel workbook. Not the right fit if you price labor and materials, keep a cost library or build proposals inside the takeoff tool, as STACK Pro does; Easy Takeoffs calculates quantities, not costs. It has no automatic first pass that measures walls and rooms across a sheet the way STACK's AI Takeoffs do. Each account is one user for now, without shared team projects, and STACK projects do not import.
Bluebeam Revu
Complete is $440 per user a year; Core is $330 and Basics $260. All Bluebeam plans are billed annually and include Bluebeam on the web and mobile, and the 14-day trial needs no credit card.
If your office already pays for Bluebeam for markup and document review, check what your plan measures before you buy anything new. Core measures length, area, perimeter, count, angle and volume, and overlays drawing versions. Complete adds Dynamic Fill, Quantity Link, which sends measurement totals to an Excel workbook, and Batch Link, which hyperlinks a set of sheets much as STACK does. Bluebeam has no item and assembly library like STACK's and doesn't price the work, so material quantities and costs come from your workbook.
Runs on: Windows for Revu. Bluebeam on the web and the iOS app measure area, length, polylength and count; measuring is not yet available on Android.
Choose it if your office works in Bluebeam on Windows anyway, markup and review fill much of the day, and an Excel link matters more to you than assemblies.

ConstructConnect Takeoff
Starter is $1,200 a year for a single seat; Professional is $2,200 a year for the first seat and $1,700 for each additional seat. Both are annual contracts on ConstructConnect's pricing page, which says subscriptions can't be canceled mid-term, refunded or paused. A trial of Professional is arranged through sales.
ConstructConnect Takeoff is a browser app from the company behind PlanSwift and On-Screen Takeoff, built for interior trade contractors: drywall, acoustical ceiling tile, painting and flooring. Both plans name and scale pages automatically. Starter limits each project to 25 plans; Professional removes the limit, adds collaborators who can view and edit, and includes Auto Takeoff, the Takeoff BOOST AI that measures linear, area and count items for you. ConstructConnect's October release notes add estimating in beta, with material and labor costs on a finished takeoff and markups and waste still planned, so check how far that goes before you treat it as a replacement for STACK Pro's estimating.

PlanSwift is ConstructConnect's Windows takeoff and estimating program, a desktop counterpart to STACK Pro. Material and labor assemblies apply as you measure, labor unit libraries hold your production rates, a live Excel link updates connected cells as the takeoff changes, and bid proposals come from the same estimate. Essential includes Auto Count, Auto Scale and Auto Bookmark; Core adds unlimited Auto Takeoff. Plugins add trade features.
Runs on: Windows. ConstructConnect says it can't be installed directly on a Mac; Mac users run it in Windows through a virtual machine such as Parallels, or through Boot Camp on Intel-based Macs.

Buildxact
Foundation is $2,030 a year billed annually ($169 a month) or $199 a month on monthly billing; Pro is $4,070 a year ($339 a month). Every Buildxact plan includes unlimited users, annual plans are a 12-month commitment, and there is a 14-day trial.
Buildxact is estimating and job management software for residential builders and remodelers, and it prices the company rather than the estimator. Foundation pairs digital takeoff with estimates, customizable quote letters, digital signatures, supplier integration and purchase orders. Pro adds job management, schedules and the Onsite mobile app. Automated floor plan measurement comes from the Blu Takeoff Assistant, a $99 a month add-on for Pro that is included in Master; Buildxact says it works on floor plans, not roof plans or elevations.

Choose it if you build or remodel homes, several people in the office quote, and you want takeoff, estimates, quotes and ordering in one system without paying per seat.

Togal.AI
Growth is $3,588 per user per year, shown on Togal's pricing page as $299 a month per user, billed yearly. Business, for teams of four or more users, is quoted and lists quantity discounts.
Togal.AI costs the same per user as STACK Premium, so moving to it is a change of approach rather than a saving. It is cloud takeoff software built around AI: the Togal button detects, measures and labels spaces on the drawings; image, text and pattern search find and count items from a box you draw; sheets are named automatically; and drawing sets can be compared to measure what changed. Growth includes collaboration with anyone in your account and with outside collaborators who don't need their own subscription, and quantities export to Excel or to estimating software. Sold by quote. ConstructConnect's On-Screen Takeoff page says pricing varies by licensing options and offers a 14-day trial.
On-Screen Takeoff is ConstructConnect's Windows program for commercial takeoff, organized around conditions. Typical Areas, Groups and Repeating Pages handle repeated work, overlays compare revisions, and Takeoff BOOST AI can identify wall types and create conditions. ConstructConnect positions it for general contractors and larger firms that need bid management. Subscription tiers run from Essential, with Auto Takeoff on five projects, to Core with unlimited Auto Takeoff; Plus and Professional add the Quick Bid estimating program.

Construction Platforms That Come Up as STACK Competitors
Searches for STACK competitors also bring up construction platforms with takeoff inside a larger system, and STACK's help center lists integrations with some of them, including Procore and Buildertrend. They make sense when you are choosing software to run the whole job, not only to replace a takeoff tool. Here they are next to Easy Takeoffs, which does takeoff on its own:

Leaving STACK Without Losing Work
Plan the move around your term. STACK's paid plans run for 12 months, so find your renewal date and trial the alternatives well ahead of it, not in the week the invoice arrives.
While your subscription is active, export what you want to keep. STACK's reports, from takeoff quantity and summary to item list and item cost, export to Excel or CSV. Save them for recent and active bids, keep the original plan PDFs on your own drive, and list the items and assemblies you used on your last ten jobs; that list is what each alternative has to cover. STACK projects don't import into Easy Takeoffs, and you should ask any other vendor before you count on an import, so finish active jobs in STACK where you can.
Before you commit, take off one job you already finished in STACK during the new software's trial, ideally one with an addendum, and compare the quantities line by line with your STACK report. Where totals differ, check the scale, deductions and how measurements are grouped before you decide which number is right.
Then rebuild small, starting with the items and assemblies you use every week. In Easy Takeoffs, begin from the built-in and community assemblies and adjust their formulas and waste factors before you write your own. When Staying on STACK Makes Sense
STACK earns its price for teams that use the whole platform. If several estimators share item libraries and projects, price jobs in Pro, send proposals from it and give project managers free viewer seats, switching means rebuilding all of that, and the savings have to pay for the work. Before you leave, ask STACK about a custom subscription package and its savings program, which lists discounts for military members and veterans, recent graduates and minority-owned businesses.
Switching makes more sense when the subscription pays for features you don't use. If your STACK hours go to measuring, marking up and counting, and the pricing happens in a spreadsheet anyway, a takeoff tool covers that work for less.

What is the difference between STACK Premium and Pro?
Premium ($3,588 per user a year) is the takeoff plan: unlimited projects and measurements, the full takeoff toolset with exports and reports, an item and assembly library, overlays, automatic plan naming, symbol search and recognition, AI Takeoffs and unlimited viewer seats. Pro ($4,188) adds estimating: worksheet estimates, STACK for Excel, the BNI regional cost library, an estimate dashboard and proposals. If you price jobs outside STACK, Premium covers the takeoff work.
Does STACK include AI takeoff?
Yes. AI Takeoffs are included in Premium and Pro, and in the free plan's first seven days. STACK says the feature makes a first pass of door and window counts, room areas and interior and exterior wall lengths, does best on architectural floor plans, processes one sheet at a time, and cancels requests that run longer than five minutes.
Can I pay for STACK monthly and cancel anytime?
STACK's paid plans are 12-month terms. You can spread the payments monthly, at $349 a month per user for Premium and $399 for Pro, but the commitment is still a year. Note your renewal date and ask what the renewal price will be before you sign.
Can I export my data from STACK?
Yes, on the paid plans. STACK's reports, including takeoff quantity, takeoff summary, measurement by takeoff, item list and item cost, export to Excel or CSV. Your original plan PDFs are yours to keep. STACK projects don't import into Easy Takeoffs as editable takeoffs, so export reports for any job you may need to revisit before your paid term ends.
What replaces STACK's estimating if I switch?
It depends on your work. Buildxact keeps takeoff, estimates and quotes together for residential builders and remodelers, and Square Takeoff builds estimates with material, labor and equipment. PlanSwift prices inside a Windows program, and On-Screen Takeoff adds Quick Bid in its Plus and Professional tiers. If you already price in a spreadsheet, Easy Takeoffs exports quantities to CSV or fills a copy of your own Excel workbook, so the pricing stays where it is.
Is STACK or PlanSwift better?
They suit different setups. STACK runs in a browser on any device, with Premium at $3,588 and Pro at $4,188 per user a year on 12-month terms, and unlimited viewer seats. PlanSwift is installed Windows software, with Essential at $2,000 a year for the first seat and $1,500 for each additional seat, material and labor assemblies, a live Excel link and bid proposals. Choose STACK for browser access and shared team projects, and PlanSwift for desktop estimating at a lower price per seat.
